my movie is not porn - Nollywood producer (+provocative pics)
You must have heard about 'Room 027', the new movie by Collins Onwochei where there are a lot of steamy scenes including full nudity. Some have dubbed it soft porn but Collins say it is anything but that. This is his statement from press release
"Room 027 has made a lot of headlines, especially on the social network. I say this with all sense of responsibility. I think Nigerians are hypocrites. They are the same people that will say you can tell the end of a movie just by seeing the beginning. Same people that watch all episodes of Spartacus in the comfort of their living room and nobody gives a hoot about it. I did not shoot or act in a soft porn movie. Room 027 is nothing close to a soft porn movie. I have no interest in nudity. I just did my job as an actor. Nigerians have not seen the movie, they don't know whether the girl was naked or if anyone was naked and they are making a whole lot of noise about it"

Outrage as Jonathan's govt bans film narrated by Wole Soyinka
From what we gather, the award-winning filmmaker, Ishaya
Bako’s new film, ‘Fuelling Poverty’ has been banned in Nigeria by the Federal
Government. The reasons is still unclear, but the content of the movie must be
largely responsible.
Fuelling Poverty is a documentary on the fuel subsidy in
Nigeria, and it tries to expose the scams of the political class. It is
narrated by Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka. On reaching the filmmaker over the
phone during the week, Mr. Bako, who is not new to controversy, said he has
been summoned by the State Security Service to answer some questions.
Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, wrote a letter
to the filmmaker, Ishaya Bako, saying the contents of the documentary “are
highly provocative and likely to incite or encourage public disorder and
undermine national security.” The Board warned Mr. Bako to abide by the order
as he would now be treated as though he were a threat to national security.

last Sunday and their aim was to thrill. They hosted the well-publicised
All-stars party at the Federal Palace hotel. As usual, there was a large
presence of Paparazzi as one steps on the red carpet, even though there were
very little celebrities around. The show as advertised was mainly for Lagosians

Africa, we are trying to make sure that we give the fans what they want.

Was Mercy Aigbe truly disgraced by hubby?
For days now, several online blogs have been agog with the
allegation that Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe was disgraced out of an event by
her hubby, Lanre Gentry for allegedly disappearing from an event venue on Sunday.
The brouhaha started at the popular Troy Lounge in Ogba,
Lagos where the actress was being honoured. Ooduwa Television, a channel on
cable network, Startimes was celebrating the Yoruba actress for her
contributions to the movie world. There was a time during the end of the event
when the DJ asked for the presence of the Mercy and she was nowhere to be
found. But there was no major incident after that. It was after the event that some
blogs started giving ‘insights’ to what happened behind the scene.
The story is that Mercy left her husband and his friends at
the table for hours without coming back. The husband after a while got angry
and went to the DJ to announce that Mercy’s attention was needed. Later mercy
was said to have appeared, but this time wearing another cloth, a night gown.
The husband was said to be very angry that he dragged her into the car and
drove off angrily. The other seeming proof was that Mercy’s car was left
parking in front of the club even till the next day.

Comedian Sheddi Baba runs mad
We got this from Hazeez Balogun's Blog. My concern about the comedian who is a very good friend of mine started when I saw his Facebook profile which read that he was dead. It was written in second person, so I took it very seriously. I know that as a comedian, he may be trying to play a very expensive joke. But I still thought death was too much to joke about. I decided to call his phone which he did not pick. I left him a message asking why his fb page said he was dead. I was expecting a funny reply like, "Got you"!!! or something like that. But the response I got got me more worried. He sent to me, "Hazeez M̶̲̥̅Îł̲̣̣̥ Brother! They can only kill d flesh but not d spirit." I did not even know how to respond to that. I have been trying to reach him since then but he wont respond.
Just today, his brother left this message
"I will like to use dis opportunity to humbly beg and plead to everyone to please ignore all messages pasted by Sheddi Baba. Am the younger brother to Sheddi Baba..I can't really xpose what his going tru right now, but pls put him in prayers and God will bless u..i have read all the message he posted so i have to collect his password and delete all. Thanks and God bless u as u keep praying.!!!"
Now that is scary. I will try and get to his house to know whats going on. meanwhile do pray for him

Fran and Tunde Kuboye’s son, Baba T, launches musical career
Coming
from a background steeped in music, it didn’t come as any surprise that Babatunmida
Kuboye, the middle child of renowned jazz duo, Tunde and Fran Kuboye (Fran died
in 1997), has decided to launch a professional music career. Though Baba, as he
prefers to be called by fans and friends, has always been on the periphery of
the music industry by virtue of his regular sessions at his parents’ popular
Jazz 38 Club with The Extended Family Band, even releasing an album to lukewarm
reception years back; the gangling and gregarious London based RF Engineer is
now musically and mentally enamoured to give established Nigerian music stars a
run for their talent and artistry.
He is
coming to the scene with a banging new single titled, Baba De Baba, accompanied
with a multi-million naira video shot on location in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. Despite
the fact that he only has one single at the moment, Baba is upbeat about his
chances of scaling through whatever challenges that he may encounter on his
path as a professional musician. He expects people to have same amount of fun
he had when he first listened to his latest single and says that his guiding
principle is to have fun in whatever he ventures into.
“I
have been exposed to some of the good and bad sides of the industry by virtue
of my background. I have also had some experience whilst doing my own music.
Whilst nothing can ever fully prepare one for the wonderful world of the music
industry, I like to think I have a good support system and experience to deal
with what comes my way.” Speaking further, he says, “My guiding principle in
doing music is that it should always be fun! I had fun making the track. From
the composition to the recording in the UK to the video shoot out in Florida, I
think that comes across in the song itself. My hope is that people will have
the same amount of fun I had whilst they watch and listen to it.”
Next Movie star GM resigns
Just few months after he was employed to take over the
running of Sola Fajobi created Next Movie Star(NMS), actor, Sam Uche Anyamele
has quit the company as the General Manager. He did not give a concrete reason
for leaving but there are talks that there had been some altercations between
him and the owner of the reality show franchise.
The actor, who was meant to take over the preparation and
organization of the 2013 edition of the Next Movie Star realty show, has since
moved on with his acting career and looking forward to a more rewarding career.
We hear that he was asked to produce a plan for this year’s NMS but since her
was given the position, he was yet to create any solid plan for the popular
show.
Friends of Sam explained that he resigned to focus more on
his acting career. This reason did not hold much water, since he was aware of
his acting career before accepting the job in the first place. The management of the Next Movie Star we hear
are shopping for a replacement for the actor as Sola Fajobi is said to have
busied himself with creation of more soap operas in recent time.

Deji Falope bares mind on Goldie
Many do not know that Tv presenter and producer, Deji Falope and late singer Goldie were cousins. He had remained silent since. I think. he decided to have some sort of closure by writing this. We got this piece from his publicist
I just installed MS 2013 on my laptop and I thought, I have not written in years, what the heck, scribble n edit later, if ever.
I have seen a goon number of pieces about Goldie in various media. I was shocked by her passing. More shocked than I expected. Those who know me say I am “unemotional” I think I really just have disciplined control over my thoughts and actions and expressions. However, for the first time in years, I was lost. Lost because didn’t know what to do or think or even how to feel.
I hardly cry, I dispel any emotion that comes close and I suck it up. The last time I cried was shortly after meeting my father who left all 4 kids with my mother for about twenty years, when I finally saw him when I was 3 years old, I wasn’t mad, I wasn’t angry, I was curious, I had one question: Why? I wasn’t sure what specific question I was asking or even what response I expected. Honestly I didn’t even have the courage to ask out loud.

Arsenal major share holder reveals why Arsenal is doing poorly
Alisher Usmanov has revealed that Arsenal Legend,Thierry Henry has convinced him several times to buy Arsenal.
He told French Sports Daily ;
"I like many footballers, and I'm in contact with some of them. Perhaps my favourite of the last ten, 15 years is Thierry Henry. He's pushing me to buy all of Arsenal's shares, but I cannot predict the future,"
"When I had the chance to buy some shares and become one of the main shareholders in the club, I didn't hesitate for a second. I was even ready to take total control. That wasn't possible because certain people preferred to make a profit and create, using me, an outside enemy. I remain portrayed as a pirate, an enemy. They have won that game."
