my movie is not porn - Nollywood producer (+provocative pics)
You must have heard about 'Room 027', the new movie by Collins Onwochei where there are a lot of steamy scenes including full nudity. Some have dubbed it soft porn but Collins say it is anything but that. This is his statement from press release
"Room 027 has made a lot of headlines, especially on the social network. I say this with all sense of responsibility. I think Nigerians are hypocrites. They are the same people that will say you can tell the end of a movie just by seeing the beginning. Same people that watch all episodes of Spartacus in the comfort of their living room and nobody gives a hoot about it. I did not shoot or act in a soft porn movie. Room 027 is nothing close to a soft porn movie. I have no interest in nudity. I just did my job as an actor. Nigerians have not seen the movie, they don't know whether the girl was naked or if anyone was naked and they are making a whole lot of noise about it"

Outrage as Jonathan's govt bans film narrated by Wole Soyinka
From what we gather, the award-winning filmmaker, Ishaya
Bako’s new film, ‘Fuelling Poverty’ has been banned in Nigeria by the Federal
Government. The reasons is still unclear, but the content of the movie must be
largely responsible.
Fuelling Poverty is a documentary on the fuel subsidy in
Nigeria, and it tries to expose the scams of the political class. It is
narrated by Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka. On reaching the filmmaker over the
phone during the week, Mr. Bako, who is not new to controversy, said he has
been summoned by the State Security Service to answer some questions.
Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, wrote a letter
to the filmmaker, Ishaya Bako, saying the contents of the documentary “are
highly provocative and likely to incite or encourage public disorder and
undermine national security.” The Board warned Mr. Bako to abide by the order
as he would now be treated as though he were a threat to national security.

Was Mercy Aigbe truly disgraced by hubby?
For days now, several online blogs have been agog with the
allegation that Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe was disgraced out of an event by
her hubby, Lanre Gentry for allegedly disappearing from an event venue on Sunday.
The brouhaha started at the popular Troy Lounge in Ogba,
Lagos where the actress was being honoured. Ooduwa Television, a channel on
cable network, Startimes was celebrating the Yoruba actress for her
contributions to the movie world. There was a time during the end of the event
when the DJ asked for the presence of the Mercy and she was nowhere to be
found. But there was no major incident after that. It was after the event that some
blogs started giving ‘insights’ to what happened behind the scene.
The story is that Mercy left her husband and his friends at
the table for hours without coming back. The husband after a while got angry
and went to the DJ to announce that Mercy’s attention was needed. Later mercy
was said to have appeared, but this time wearing another cloth, a night gown.
The husband was said to be very angry that he dragged her into the car and
drove off angrily. The other seeming proof was that Mercy’s car was left
parking in front of the club even till the next day.
